Customer Complaint

  1. You have received a complaint from a customer that was treated poorly by a member of your business’ customer service staff. She wasn’t very specific as to what the problem was but it sounds serious enough to jeopardize losing her as a customer. You must write a response to the complaint.
  2. Format your assignment like a business letter. Look online or in the Microsoft Word templates for a proper format. Address your letter to Barbara McBride. Her address is 2200 Hamilton Street, Apt. 4, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
  3. Use a three-part professional style with appropriate tone and language to explain how the situation will be resolved, what actions will be taken to prevent it happening in the future and if (and how) the customer will be compensated for the poor treatment.

Teamwork Essay

Write a two page essay on the following topic. Your essay should be done in Word, size 12 font, double spaced. Please put a left-aligned heading at the top including your name and the date.


Think of a team that you were part of. (It can be a sports team, a work team or a team for a big school project.) Chapter 8 (Communication Skills) may be helpful!

In the allotted time, write an essay addressing the following points:

Briefly describe the team you were (are) on and that team’s purpose or goal.

Choose ONE of the following to expand on:

o Training: What preparation did the team undertake and how did it specifically relate to or help the team to reach its goal?

o Roles: If specific roles were assigned, describe how those roles were determined and how they helped the team to reach its goal.

o Agreements: If your team had a specific agreement, describe how specific elements of that agreement strengthened the team.

o Leadership: Did an informal leader emerge or was one chosen? (NOT your boss or coach, etc) What qualities did that leader possess that strengthened the team?
