Select a country that your business might conduct business in.

Research your country and conduct an environmental scan. You should include:

  • Political factors
  • Laws/ Regulatory factors
  • Economic factors
  • Socio-cultural factors
  • Technological factors

International business can take the forms of importing/exporting, licensing, contract manufacturing or direct investment. What level of commitment is most appropriate for your business?

Assuming that you decide to offer your product in this country, what marketing strategy makes the most sense? (Globalization, Adaptation, Customization)

Business Plan #5

Company/ Product Name

A. Come up with a name for your business and/or product(s)
  • A business’ name is very important because it conveys much information to the customer. You should not necessarily choose the first thing that pops into your head or something that you think is “cute”. At the very least, consider the points in the link below and think about what message your product name is making.
  • Visit http://www.halfagain.com/general-marketing/whats-my-name.html or do a web-search for other tools to help you effectively name your business.

Economic Utilities

A. Choose the one economic utility that you see as being most important to the success of your business. Explain why that utility is most important and describe how your business will capitalize on that utility.

B. In a sentence or two, explain how the other four (of five) economic utilities pertain to your business.
  • Form Utility
  • Possession Utility
  • Information Utility
  • Time Utility
  • Place Utility
